There are two great family-friendly events happening downtown this weekend!
Ironman Wisconsin takes place this Sunday, Sept. 12. The Kids’ Challenge is a great way to get your family geared up for the event!
Be part of the excitement of Ironman Wisconsin race weekend – take the Madison Active Sports Challenge! Participate in a run around Capitol Square, complete with medals for everyone. Then, enjoy family-friendly activities on the rooftop at Monona Terrace. You’ll find challenges and entertainment for young and old alike.
Each registered runner will receive a finisher medal and a Madison Active Sports Challenge t-shirt. Healthy treats and refreshments will also be on hand to keep your energy up. Plus a few surprises just for good measure!

7:30 – 8:30 am – Registration (Monona Terrace Rooftop)
8:30 am – Runners Ushered to Starting Line
9:00 – 9:45 am – Run (Capitol Square)*
9:15am – Noon – Madison Active Sports Challenge Festival (Monona Terrace Rooftop)**
*Run open to youth of any age (under 18)
** Festival is open to everyone – not just partcipants of the run
Online registration for the Madison Active Sports Challenge is open! This event is free and open to the public!
Enjoy outdoor performances and activities, including Suzuki Strings of Madison (9:30 am), Rich Baumann (10 am), and Call for Peace: The Next Generation (10:45 am), finishing with a community drum circle led by Elmore Lawson (11:30 am). $1 Family Access museum admission for everyone all day!
