Madison Children’s Museum general info

The Madison Children’s Museum is closed until their Grand Opening Celebration August 14-15. Until then, you can get a sneak peek of the museum by reading about our tour of the museum!

Below is info for when the museum opens:

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day; Thursdays until 8 p.m.

Admission prices: $6.95, adults and children; $5.95, seniors and grandparents; $1, Family Access admission for adults and children utilizing WIC, Head Start, free or reduced school lunch, Birth to 3, SSDI, Fostercare, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Unemployment Insurance, or other public assistance program; FREE for museum members and children under 1 year old.

And don’t miss Twilight Thursdays on the first Thursday of the month after 5 p.m., when admission for all is free!

Interested in becoming a museum member? MCM offers multiple membership levels including “Family Plus” which includes: free admission to Association of Children’s Museums‘ 165 member museums (including Chicago, Milwaukee, Rockford, Appleton & St. Paul)
Free admission or other benefits at any Association of Science and Technology Centers Reciprocal Institutions.

Museum members also receive a 10% discount at numerous local restaurants and stores and discounted classes with Children’s Theater of Madison.

“Family Access” memberships and memberships for Childcare Providers are also available (check the website for more detailed information).

Parking: Free bike and paid car parking is available in the museum’s parking lots, with entrances on North Hamilton and East Dayton streets. Overflow car parking is available at the ramp on the corner of North Pinckney and E. Dayton streets. MCM is also on the bus line.

Visit the MCM’s website for more information regarding group visits, exhibits, events and rentals and how you can help support MCM (including making donations of household materials for art supplies like cardboard tubes, single serve applesauce containers, baby food containers, etc).
