Listen to your Mother / Welcome to Motherland

If you happened to miss seeing Listen to your Mother at the Barrymore like I did, the video is now up on the blog. I’m sure seeing these ladies share their stories live was a completely different experience than watching them on a computer, but I was really excited to see it (and disappointed that I had to miss it), so this is the next best thing.

And if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out Welcome to Motherland at the Goodman Community Center this Sunday (May 23) from 3pm – 6pm. “Greetings From Motherland is an evolving, collaborative community art project that gathers mothers together to make art about the culture shock of becoming a mother through workshops, participatory exhibitions, and a web site.” You can find further information on the project at the website linked above, and there’s a nice interview with the participants up on Happy Bambino’s blog.

What did you think of “Listen to Your Mother”? Are you planning on checking out “Welcome to Motherland”? We’d love to hear from anyone who contributed to either of these events!

  1. I loved Listen to Your Mother (great job Ann). Greetings from Motherland was an amazing experience and I’m excited to see how our contributions will all come together for the final exhibition. Yea! It’s getting close.
